Wine Lab Sundays monthly series – new Winter 2023 dates!

Join us for a series of fun and informative monthly wine gatherings where we explore wines of Firestone Vineyard and the Foley Food & Wine Society. We will feature three partner wineries from across California and beyond, taking a deep dive into the wines and common themes among them. Led by Sommelier Billie Rolla, Wine Lab Sundays include hands-on experiments, small group conversation, some friendly competition, and of course wine! Wine Lab Sundays include TWO (2) seats at the table, so bring a friend or loved one and meet other fun wine enthusiasts. Absolutely no previous wine knowledge is necessary!

Sunday, October 15:
Taste the Harvest

On Sunday, October 15th, Sommelier Billie Rolla will lead a group of wine enthusiasts in “Taste the Harvest” Wine Lab where we’ll explore the sights, sounds, and flavors of harvest from grape to tank. We will conduct exploratory activities, engage in small group conversation, and of course, sample wines!

Harvest is in full swing as the vineyard is buzzing with grapes changing color and sugar levels climbing. So, what actually happens at the winery during this action-packed month? How do those delicious little grapes turn into the complex and intoxicating wines we savor and love? Join us for October’s “Taste the Harvest” Wine Lab and find out!

Wine & Food Dynamics

On Sunday, November 12th, Sommelier Billie Rolla will lead a group of wine enthusiasts in “Food and Wine Dynamics” Wine Lab where you will learn to thoughtfully select the perfect wine to pair with your food. We will conduct exploratory activities, engage in small group conversation, and of course, sample wines!

Learn to confidently pair wine with your next meal as we explore the world of taste. Understand the science behind why and how we taste and learn to identify those sensory notes in food and wine through a hands-on tasting activity. Feel what happens to a wine when you drink it with a sweet treat or with a lemon! Discovering how different tastes react with each other will give you the tools you need to thoughtfully select the perfect wine to go with your dish.

The History of Wine

On Sunday, December 17th, Sommelier Billie Rolla will lead a group of wine enthusiasts in “The History of Wine” Wine Lab where we will explore the journey of grape from birth to present day. We will conduct exploratory activities, engage in small group conversation, and of course, sample wines!

Let’s celebrate the coming New Year with a look at the past as we journey from the grape’s domestication beginning with its spread through Greek and Roman culture to the birth of new nations – wine was certainly at the helm! There will be experiments, toasts, and immersion so come ready to meet new friends and toast to another good year!
