Our Reserve Syrah is known for its robust mouthfeel and intense flavor profile, and the 2019 is especially bold and distinct. The wine delivers delicious aromas and flavors of of rich dark fruit, spice, zesty white pepper, and tobacco.
FOOD PAIRINGS
The Syrah’s balanced acidity and lush tannins make this the ideal accompaniment to tri-tip, bison burgers, or tomato-based sauces such as Bolognese. Also try pairing with beef carpaccio and strong, salty cheeses.
VINTAGE
2019 had a robust amount of rain during the winter, ending Santa Barbara County’s drought. We had early bud break with a mild spring and summer. Our first pick was September 11th. There was a short heat spike in early September which lasted about one week, then we were back to consistent, mild weather again, allowing us to pick each block at the optimum time. The vineyard was completely picked by November 11th.
